Any other co-habitating intelligent species on your planet? Yes. The Lusus race act as guardians for young trolls, serving a similar function to the Earth concept of "family". Lusii come in many different shapes and sizes, such as spiders and dragons and rams, but of course they are much more intelligent than Earth animals! Once a troll grows up, it is common for their lusus to move from the role of custodian into that of a companion. It is said that the lusus chooses the troll, and that the type of lusus you get will often be a good indicator of the kind of troll you will grow up to be!

Technology present: Alternia is pretty sophisticated! We are up to date on all the latest technology, including computers and the internet! We also have intergalactic fleets that conquer other planets all around our galaxy! Because we're awesome like that.
Magic present: It depends on what you consider the boundaries of magic to be, but considering that my ancestor could see into the future and fight with a set of enchanted dice, I think it would be fairly safe to say we have some! I am still working out what the parametres of it are in our world though. It seems pretty loose!
